Senior School SENCo
Runnymede College is a private non-denominational British school in Madrid offering a British education to boys and girls of all nationalities from the age of two to eighteen. The education offered follows the British National Curriculum and we are looking to appoint a full-time Senior School SENCo to join our dedicated team from September 2026
Purpose of the role:
The SENCo will be responsible for the excellent provision and support for our SEND pupils, specifically supporting pupils in Years 9-13. The SENCo will work closely alongside the current SENCo’s, teaching staff and Exams Officer to ensure all pupils across Runnymede College are able to reach their potential and have access to appropriate adjustments for their learning.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- A good honours degree from a British University
- A PGCE or equivalent qualified teacher status
- Experience teaching children at Secondary School level
- Strong knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice
- Experience delivering interventions and supporting classroom teachers.
- Native level of spoken and written English
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- National Award for SEND Coordination (NASENCo) or equivalent.
- Experience in a SENDCo or inclusion-focused leadership role.
- Experience working with external therapists and authorities.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
- Experience in a UK based Private School or British International Overseas School
